I’ve never shared a bath with a waffle-making donkey before, but there’s a first for everything. I mean, I’ve shared a bath with a donkey before, but apparently he goes by the name “husband”. After bathing with Shrek Swamp Bath Bomb, it’s his sidekick’s turn to steal the show in the tub. As a fan of the Shrek movies I of course had to grab every single item of this collab, and I can’t wait to try out Donkey! Keep on reading if you’re curious about this bath bomb.

What is it?

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Cornstarch, Clove Bud Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil, Water (Aqua), Titanium Dioxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Dipropylene Glycol, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, *Eugenol, *Linalool, Colour 42090, Colour 77499

Lush Donkey Bath Bomb costs £6.00 / €8,50 and is part of the Lush X Shrek collab, which will be released in USA on April 9th. This pretty, blue/white and glittery bath bomb shares its scent with the Yog Nog scent family, which seemed like an odd fit given the colors of Donkey. It actually makes sense though–Donkey loves making waffles in the morning! I think it’s genius, if you ask me. The bath bomb itself is so pretty, it’s got a lot of details and Donkey’s unmistakable grin is there as well!

If you’re not familiar with the Yog Nog scented, it’s a heavenly scent. If you’re fan of sweet, warm gourmand-y scents, then you’ll love Yog Nog. It’s a caramel drenched waffles, butterscotch rich blend with some hints of spice, making this scent perfect for the winter. It’s sweet, creamy and spicy, like a bakery on Christmas Eve.

The bath bomb contains cornstarch, which I know is very softening for both the water and your skin. Clove bud oil and ylang ylang oil leave their mark on the scent, as the clove bud adds a bit of spiciness, and the ylang ylang adds a tiny bit of floral notes to the background.

What do I think?

This has been one of the most frothiest bath bomb in a long, long time. Thick streams of frothy swirls of blue and white shoot onto the surface, along with a trail of glitters. It fizzed for a good 5 minutes, showing us spectacular bath art. It reminds me a lot of Frozen bath bomb, but with a lot more foam on the surface. The water looks gorgeous, absolutely stunning. Packed with tiny silver lustre under the water, and swirls of foam flying through the bath. The bathroom is filled with the scent of baked waffles and lingers long after I’m doing bathing.

After bathing, my entire body is covered in tiny glitters—although the word glitters might give you the impression that they’re big chunks of glitters—but they’re not, it’s like a pretty shimmery layer. My skin felt a bit softer than before and I could detect a hint of Yog Nog on my skin as well! Definitely a lovely bath bomb that is worth every penny. From bath art to scent, this bath bomb is a hit in every aspect. Grab yourself a Donkey before he’s gone!
