Today my Lush x Shrek order arrived, and I’m accidentally in love. I love the Shrek movies, so this collab definitely screamed my name. They launched six products, and since I have no backbone when it comes to Lush, I just decided to buy everything. I was particularly curious about the bath products, so I decided to start off with the main character’s bath bomb, and today you can read my in-depth review on this bath bomb!

What is it?

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Cocoa Powder, Dipropylene Glycol, Pine Oil, Vetivert Oil, Peppermint Oil, Cocoa Absolute, Carrageenan Extract, Fuller’s Earth, Rhassoul Mud, Arame Seaweed, Water (Aqua), Dried Oakmoss, Charcoal powder, Sodium Coco Sulfate, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume, Colour 47005:1, Colour 42090:2, Colour 45350

Lush Shrek Swamp Bath Bomb costs £8.00 / €11,00 (180 grams) and is part of the Lush X Shrek collab. It’s a super cool bath bomb to see, with the huge S displayed on top and, as usual, the flat bottom to prevent it from rolling over. The scent is unique, I haven’t smelled anything like this before with any other Lush product. It’s a mossy green scent, like moss and pine trees, but with a hint of peppermint. It’s like walking through the mud in a swampy forest after it rained. I can also pick up a tiny hint of cocoa, it adds a sweet touch to the scent. I’m not the biggest fan of mossy scents, but I can really appreciate this one, and I think the scent is absolutely perfect for this bath bomb!

The ingredients list is interesting. Cocoa powder and cocoa absolute–both great for the skin, but also for adding a sweet gourmand note to the scent. Fuller’s earth is an earthy substance, which is highly absorbent and provides a deep, gentle and effective cleanse. Rhassoul mud has similar properties. Arame seaweed is rich in vitamins and minerals, which makes this ingredient amazing at cleansing, toning and softening the skin. Dried oakmoss adds a nice touch to the final aesthetic of the water. Charcoal powder is another deep cleansing ingredient, so all in all this bath bomb contains a lot of ingredients that are benefical to our skin.

What do I think?

Oh man, I loved this bath bomb. The bath art was phenomenal! When in contact with water, it starts spewing around green frothy strands of foam, followed by brown strands. The water gradually turns into a bright, vibrant shade of green. A white layer of foam is formed on the surface, along some puddles of brown foam. In terms of bath art, it’s a real winner. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a vibrant shade of green in my tub. There’s small twigs and moss floating around the surface, which made me feel like an ogre bathing in a swamp. The mossy scent was well present during bathing, I could even smell it long after I excited the bath.

This bath bomb isn’t just a simple bath bomb—it’s a detailed, well made bath bomb with amazing details. You can definitely notice how much work and effort they put in creating this bath bomb. From the amazing, mossy swamp scent to the little bits of moss floating around, from the incredible ingredients to the vibrant green color—it’s worth every penny. My skin was noticeably softer afterwards, felt clean and more supple. I’m definitely buying a few more of these before they leave the stores!
