I still have my two pots of Bam! and Brr! shower slimes. They’re almost empty, but I just can’t get myself to finish it. (Do I need professional help? Probably) I just love this type of product so much, that I want to keep and cherish it in my stash forever. You can probably imagine how happy I was with the arrival of a new, limited shower slime! Today I’ll be reviewing this product, so you’re curious about this product, make sure you keep on reading!

What is it?

Lush Get Outta My Swamp Shower Slime costs £9.00 / €12,00 (100g) and is available in 100g and 240g. First of all–I love the look of this product! The pot is green and the label is Shrek customized. Second–If you’re unfamiliar with this kind of product–it’s exactly like you’d imagine. It’s slime. Not the sticky putty-type of slime from when we were young, but more like a gooey, thick shower gel. It’s just as liquid and runny, but it has a way thicker consistency than regular shower gel. It serves the same purpose like shower gel–it cleanses, hydrates and softens the skin. I love these type of innovative products. It’s fun to play with, it’s fun for kids and it has taken on a whole new dimension when it comes to having fun in the shower.

What’s inside?

Ingredients: Fresh Wheatgrass Juice, Glycerine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cornstarch, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bicarbonate, Xanthan Gum, Perfume, Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose, Pine Oil, Vetivert Oil, Peppermint Oil, Cocoa Absolute, Water (Aqua), Sodium Carboxymethyl Starch, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 47005:1, Colour 42090:2, Colour 45350

The first ingredient of this slime is fresh wheatgrass juice. It’s packed with nutrients and antioxidants, all beneficial to our skin–like promoting collagen growth in the skin, keeping the skin firm and supple. Glycerine is a humectant and a carrier that locks in moisture and effective ingredients, while corn starch makes the skin feel silky soft. Then there’s pine oil, vertivert oil, peppermint oil and cocoa absolute. This should give you a few hints of the scent also.

Scent

Lush describes the scent as “earthy herbal and chocolatey fragrance”, but I cannot for the life of me detect anything chocolatey about the scent. All I get is a grassy, mossy scent. It’s not exactly the Grass shower gel that we’ve had ages ago, it’s more.. minty than that. The wheatgrass seems to be the main note in the scent. There’s a hint of pine and a hint of mint, but it seems that the grassy, mossy notes of the wheatgrass are most dominant. It definitely fits the product, and although it’s not my favorite scent, it does remind me of freshly cut grass in the spring.

What do I think?

The gooey slime is easy to apply–just scoop out a handful and slam onto wet skin. Massage and it will lather up, making it even easier to spread across the skin. The slime, normally green colored, gets more yellow now that it’s spread out. It even turns completely yellow at one point! And wait, do I smell chocolatey notes now? Yes I do! The scent transforms into a more warm, earthy and chocolatey scent–which is clearly the vertivert playing its part! I immediately notice that I don’t need much of the shower slime to cover my body. It’s very economical in use, which is a huge pro in these expensive times.

Time to compare my both arms with each other. On my left arm I used a tiny scoop of slime, on the right arm I used nothing. I can clearly see a difference already. The skin of my arm, on which I used the product, is less flaky than the other arm. It looks more hydrated, but also more supple and elastic. It’s feel a bit softer as well. I don’t really detect the scent on my skin anymore, but seeing as this isn’t my favorite scent, I’m not completely bothered by it. This shower slime isn’t only fun to use, it’s also a great boost for your skin, especially if your skin is dry and flaky like mine. Congrats Lush, you did it again! 💚
